Say No to Halal

Halal or more correctly Zabiha is a cruel and barbaric practice, the animal, fully conscious is forced terrified into a typically blood-soaked area, a slaughter-man recites the Islamic prayer the Bismillah, “Basmala” he then commences to cut the still conscious animal’s throat. Animals are

fully aware through the grisly procedure and in many cases live for some time after the initial cut, prolonging their intense physical and mental agony, animals have been seen attempting to stand after the horrific process, as noted by PETA, who stated:

(1)“…fight and gasp for their last breath, struggling to stand while the blood drains from their necks”.

The RSPCA is also against Halal slaughter citing (FAWC) The Farm Animal Welfare Committee who in a report entitled, “Welfare of Farmed Animals at Slaughter or Killing”, stated:

• (2)The level of restraint of conscious animals required for slaughter without pre-stunning was far greater than for conventional slaughter. 
•  A large cut made across the neck of a conscious animal would “result in very significant pain and distress” before the animal loses consciousness (around 5 to 7 seconds for sheep, 22 to 40 seconds for adult cattle). 
•  “Slaughter without pre-stunning is unacceptable and that the Government should repeal the current exemption”. Until then any animal not stunned before slaughter should receive an immediate post-cut stun.

The RSPCA then went on to say that,

we’re pressing for law changes to improve animal welfare at slaughter. Until this occurs, we propose:

•  UK Jewish and Muslim communities review their slaughter practices  
•  Meat produced from animals not stunned before slaughter should be clearly labelled to allow consumer choice.

Clearly the RSPCA as usual, is not doing enough, as these barbaric practices are occurring at ever greater levels and Halal has infested the nation’s food chain forcing those who have religious, cultural or ethical concerns to eat Halal, in many cases against their knowledge or better judgement. Most Christians are not compelled to follow strict dietary practices but they are forbidden to eat food offered to “idols”, as mentioned in Corinthians 10:28:

But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof:

“That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.”

Unmistakably there’s been a dwindling of Christians in this nation, due to the actions of the Left and indeed the Population Replacement Programme, which has had devastating consequences for the indigenous peoples of these isles. Due to this we no longer have the defensive shield of Christianity and what we see now is Islam moving into the recently vacated space once occupied. Yet not everybody is Christian some people disagree with Halal for cultural reasons recognising that Halal is simply a manifestation of advancing Islamic law Sha’ria and the Islamisation of wider society. This is a hard path to follow, as to resist this unwanted and unneeded change is to place you in the cross hairs of both our treacherous politicians and Radical Islam.

Lastly there are the ethical reasons, the welfare of animals, a study by Dr Craig Johnson in 2009 found that: 

(3) “Brain signals have shown that calves do appear to feel pain when slaughtered according to Jewish and Muslim religious law, strengthening the case for adapting the practices to make them more humane.

Moreover the Government's own advisory committee on animal welfare have repeatedly called for a ban until a humane method is found, stating:

(4) “…slitting the throats of the animals most commonly used for meat, chickens, without stunning, results in "significant pain and distress” 

Halal meat is abhorrent to the vast majority of people in this country for many different reasons, yet successive governments refuse to legislate or ban the distressing practice, even resisting calls to label the meat, knowing full well that it would be shunned. That our capital city hosts an event offensive to so many on so many different levels is a cause for shame.
