The Trudge To Freedom

I haven’t written for a while and for that I apologise, so much has happened, perhaps principally the further erosion of free speech and the institution of a type of Stalinesque censorship never before seen in Western Europe.
I have wanted to write many times but seeing the state of both my own nation and that of kindred nations led to anger, despair and robbed me of the will. Our nations are being led to ruin, duplicity at every turn, the treasonous actions of those meant to represent us, the rise of civic nationalism at a time true nationalism is needed and our great and ongoing replacement, all sap the will.
Today we go to the polls, in an election we should not be having for an institution we voted to leave, yet here I am, named as a “Leaver”, “Brexteer” trudging wearily again to a poll booth to place my cross in a printed box. It feels almost as important, almost as eventful were it not for our vote’s abject betrayal by seemingly every politician with a mouth. Today I will vote For Britain, Ukip or if there really is nothing else for it, I’ll hold my nose and vote for Farage Ltd. A party in my view set up to decimate Ukip and steer the people voice in a more contrived direction.
Farage is not a nationalist, he does not fight against the things that affect us, I believe that renown steers his steed and wealth’s his Holy Grail, he does not look out and see the things we see, the replacement does not affect him, he does not eke out the week one eye to the meter and one to the cupboard. He’ll never have to wait for an appointment, work a dead-end job nor suffer the street. Yet here we are, a created party, should they say, sweep the vote and even I, awake to our plight must vote them if there is nothing else, they’ve taken nationalism you see, changed it owned it and set it in motion for their cause, leaving a true nationalist genuinely voiceless and adrift.
We do not have freedom, they surveil us from almost every lamppost, they know our purchases, our face, our hobbies, family and friends, our sexual preferences, our political leanings, our very lives and still on and on it goes, the creation of a digital prison, a dystopia policed by its own citizens. With facial recognition they will know all in a crowd, with the rush towards a cashless society they’ll have the power to deny purchase, with smart meters and controlled cars they will have the ability to deny power and travel and still the merry circus continues apace. We rush headlong into a future where there is no nation state no autonomous people, just all of us an amorphous coffee-coloured blob.
So for me and I dare say others like me today is important, it is one of the very few times we can strike a blow, an impotent blow but it is rebellion all the same, it is a rejection of the supranational state and the coming hell in store for our descendents, imagine, just imagine the lives they will lead, as technology facilitates the elites Orwellian vision, everything controlled, every aspect of live, no freedom, no opinion, no dissent, a technological Marxist state. So I trudge to that little ballot box clutching a black pen, to strike a blow against them and I sincerely hope we all do, if nothing else but to tell the world we want our freedom back.
